ERIK HAGELSTEIN
Erik Hagelstein (1960, Zelhem) is
a journalist, presenter and singer.
As a journalist, he writes papers and chairs forums, such as in election time in Amphion.
In 2018 he will publish the book "Parels van de Achterhoek". It contains portraits of twenty unique Achterhoekers, fellow countrymen who have achieved the ultimate in their profession.
Band player
The Doetinchemmer plays in all kinds of bands from the age of 16. He is a much sought after singer who performs with different formations of Behind The Corner, a Achterhoek collective that makes music and plays at festivals in varying settings.
Performer
Erik is a real performer. In December 2014, he founded a ten-member band the day after Joe Cocker's death under the name The Ultimate Joe Cocker Tribute: Cry Me A River. From October 2019 this band will do a theater tour throughout the country.
Collaboration with Bernhard
In 2009, Bernhard Reinke went to live in De Heurne in the Achterhoek, where he came into contact with fellow countryman Erik Hagelstein via Vedran Mircetic, guitarist of the Nijmegen band De Staat who lived in nearby Aalten at the time. On 'Paradise' you can hear the result of this collaboration.
